in PartiCIVIS – A Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Action
“Translation Service Learning for Future Africa” is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action, but it is much more for my students, my co-bearer Joanny Moulin and for myself. It is a dream come true: the coronation of two years of hard work thinking about the way we, as a community, can serve African society and most of all women and children. Because we love Africa as the realm of linguistic and cultural diversity. Africa is our model of a world in which the multiplication of languages means openness to the Other, a dream place on earth where being different is an asset.
Project Translation Service Learning for Future Africa will be presented at the First African–European CIVIS Forum for Research and Education – From Joint Challenges to Joint Solutions, hosted by Hassan II University of Casablanca from 25 to 27 March 2026, a major international event bringing together the 17 universities of the CIVIS Alliance and their African partners to strengthen transcontinental cooperation in research and higher education. Showcasing innovative pedagogical practices that connect translation training with concrete societal needs on the African continent, the project will feature in the forum’s programme dedicated to transformative initiatives that bridge research, teaching, and community engagement, aligning closely with the event’s ambition to develop equitable African-European partnerships and co-create sustainable solutions for shared challenges.
